#100 Lancaster B I 1941

A development of the Manchester, the Avro Lancaster heavy bomber was considered essential by Winston Churchill in winning the war. It used four 1280 HP Rolls-Royce engines and could carry a larger bomb load than the B-17, ranging from standard bombs to "bouncing bombs" and the 22,000 lbs. "Grand Slam" earthquake bomb.
